Blake Nelson Lepine was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. He is of Tlingit, Han, Cree, and Scottish descent. His Tlingit teachings and way of life is the primary culture he grew up with. He, and his wife Cherish, currently travel between Victoria, British Columbia and Whitehorse, Yukon as they further their education. Blake is a member of the well-known Tlingit performers - Dakhka Khwaan Dancers.
His artwork is both for traditional and commercial use. He enjoys harvesting and researching traditional medicines, singing and dancing, speaking Tlingit, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife Cherish on the land learning about their Indigenous roots.
