Owen Munroe was born in Blairmore, Alberta in 1987, relocating to Whitehorse, Yukon in 1988. Owen is of Kaska First Nation and Ross River Dena Council decent. Improving daily, Owen dedicates himself to carving an assortment of pieces such as paddles, canoes, bowls, daggers, knife handles, spoons, panels, mini totems, and plaques. In 2011, Owen joined the beginner carving program at Northern Cultural Expressions Society giving him the opportunity to participate in carving the healing totem pole for the former residential school survivors with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
