Traditional Craft

Sarah McHugh was born and raised in Ross River/Faro, Yukon Territory. She is an emerging artist and has learned her craft from her mother-in-law Eldria Christenson who taught her to sew with beads, hide, and fur. She also had the oppurtunity to learn under the tutelage of Rose Gasner, Lena White, and the late Jessie Barret. She was inspired to become a full time artist from a vehicular injury, which led her to find something meaningful with her time. Sarah has been part of the Dawson City Furshow, Trondek Gwitchin Christmas Craft Sale, and has her work in the Trapper’s Cache.
