Shirlee Frost is from the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation and is a member of the Wolf Clan. Originally from Old Crow, Yukon, she has lived in Whitehorse, Yukon most of her life.
Shirlee first learned how to bead when she was six years old, from her maternal grandmother. Shirlee spent the summer months of her childhood studying nature, and the winter months trying to bring the flowers back to life through her art. Shirlee is now recognized as an artist in the community and beyond. Her beading is included in the ‘Arts and Crafts Canada’ magazine; and was chosen for the cover of the Northwestel 2005 phone book for Yukon and Northern British Columbia.
