I attended the last ADAKA festival prior to the COVID 19 pandemic. Although I worked and enjoyed working with film makers who were working with the youth, encouraging them to make films about stories and/or take footage of their grandparent’s stories and gave an evening performance, what was most enjoyable for me was to go from tent to tent where all the artisans were teaching to share stories with the people attending these courses. It was great to see those who had been taught their traditional art practices and to be able to share stories about their grandparents, aunties. uncles etc .. I have just finished teaching a course on the “Art of Storytelling” with NCGC . If there is a place for this, I would be honoured to try and share what I know. Mussi cho!
