Nagoohiindak, Melissa Matheson-Frost, is Chʼichyàa (of the Wolf clan) from the Vuntut Gwichin First Nation of Old Crow, Yukon.  She is a descendant of Shirlee Frost, her mother Alice Frost, and her mother Joanne Njootli.  It is through these powerful Matriarchs, that she was inspired and nurtured to write, perform, and create in various art forms.  Melissa is an aunty and a cousin who works for Mother earth and our future generations. She has forged a career out of her passion for the arts and community work with youth. Melissa creates with themes of nature, culture, traditional medicines, the power of keeping our languages alive and the incredible resiliency of our ancestors, youth, and future generations
