Rising Sun are Indigenous women who share songs for healing, for celebration, for connecting to the Ancestors and to inspire other women and girls to connect with the Drum. They sing traditional tribal songs from across Turtle Island and songs they have produced together. The group is comprised of three Indigenous nations; Gwitchin, Southern Tutchone, and Anishnaabe. They sing with hand drums, rattles, and most recently the big drum! Their group name was chosen because of the gift the Creator gave to all living beings, the gift of a new day. Another day for change, new beginnings, for the opportunity to start over, to create once again, and to heal.
