The Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association (YFNCT) will be hosting the Adäka Cultural Festival from June 28 – July 1, 2024 at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre in Whitehorse, Yukon. The 2024 festival will welcome over 75 artists and performers from Yukon communities, Northwest Territories, Alaska, British Columbia and more. Programming will include main stage performances, cultural presentations, workshops, visual art demonstrations and a beautiful retail gallery featuring artwork from participating visual artists.
WORKSHOP & TRAVEL COORDINATOR (up to 240 hours)
The Workshop and Travel Coordinator will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of 30+ artistic workshops during the 4-day festival. This includes programming and scheduling, coordinating and providing support to workshop facilitators, material preparation, workshop set up and clean up, and distributing/collecting evaluation forms. They will be responsible for coordinating and booking all attending visual artists from outside Whitehorse which includes communicating with artists, booking travel, creating and managing rooming lists, tracking mileage and per diem amounts.
Contract details: 4-month contract @ $30/hour

WORKSHOP ASSISTANT (up to 54 hours)
The Workshop Assistant will assist the Workshop and Travel Coordinator with 30+ artistic workshops during the 4-day festival by helping prep materials and supplies, workshop set up and clean up and providing support to the workshop facilitators.
Contract details: 54 hours @ $25/hour
Contract term: June 26 – July 1
GALLERY SALES & INVENTORY MANAGER (up to 140 hours)
The Gallery Sales and Inventory Manager oversees the sales operations and inventory management within the art retail/gallery space. Responsibilities include facilitating sales transactions, maintaining accurate inventory records, printing daily sales reports, managing opening and closing procedures.
Contract details: 140 hours @ $30/hour
Contract term: June 17 – July 5
GALLERY ASSISTANT (2 positions, up to 140 hours per position)
The Gallery Assistant will assist the Gallery Sales Manager and Gallery Curator with setting up and taking down the gallery as well as inputting all gallery inventory into the payment system. The Gallery Assistant will also sell retail during the festival and will be on the floor selling artwork.
Contract details: 140 hours @ $25 per hour per position; 2 positions available
Contract term: June 17 – July 5
ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER (up to 40 hours)
The Assistant Stage Manager works closely with the Stage Manager and technical team, supporting Adäka’s cultural programming. They will provide support to cultural presenters and ensure presentations are running on time.
Contract details: 40 hours @ $25/hour
