Born and raised in Whitehorse/Carcross region to a Gwichin Mother Janine Firth and CTFN father James Ward. Grew up and taught how to draw traditional art and sew from members of the community as well as watching my mother make dream catchers.

Learned how to refine my art from an artist in Whitehorse in High School for a time, took up carving. Made a bentwood box with Wayne Price in 2019 while he was making the CTFN dug out canoe, and made a wood mask in high school with Colin Teramura.
